Not to be outdone by Uber, Lyft just announced a partnership with electronic health records company Allscrips to help patients become to and from doctors' appointments.
Cheers to this partnership, the 45,000 physician practices, 180,000 physicians, and ii,500 hospitals that use Allscripts electronic health records software can at present request a Lyft for their patients, the app-based car service announced.
The partnership comes after rival Uber concluding calendar week launched Uber Health, a service that lets healthcare professionals lodge their patients a ride.
Lyft, meanwhile, says information technology's been working in the healthcare space for years, and has partnerships with some of the biggest players in the industry, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, LogistiCare, and now AllScripts. The company's tools help its partners schedule and manage "thousands" of rides a mean solar day, Lyft's Principal Business Officer David Baga wrote in a Monday weblog post.
Still, every yr, 3.6 million people in the US forego the medical care they need due to transportation problems, Baga pointed out, repeating a statistic Uber also recently referenced. Lyft is hoping to shrink that number to cypher.
"By 2022, Lyft will reduce the healthcare transportation gap by fifty percent," Baga wrote. "And soon afterwards, nosotros'll eliminate transportation barriers to healthcare birthday."
To achieve that ambitious goal, Baga said the visitor will "go along to invest in solutions" for wellness care organizations.
"We're going to keep reaching out, keep equipping new partners, and keep evolving our services until no one in this country ever misses out on disquisitional care because they tin can't become a ride," he wrote.
